 Performing with The NSW Ballet School

 

Students are given the opportunity to perform with The NSW Ballet School. 

Demonstration Day


Each mid year the School holds demonstration days for parents. These open classes are for students to demonstrate their examination work, and as parents are not normally permitted to watch classes, this is an ideal opportunity for them to view their child's progress. 

Annual Performance 


All Junior & Senior dance students (Classical Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical/Contemporary) participate in a major annual performance. These productions are an adaptation of a full-length ballet. Full costumes, props and scenery are used. Students attending our Half Course Program will perform in one ACT only and get the opportunity to watch the remainder of the Performance free of charge, and students attending our Full Course Program will perform in two ACTs of the Performance along with our Jazz and Lyrical/Contemporary students.

Annual Performance Compulsory Rehearsals- Junior and Senior Annual Performance Students are required to attend the three compulsory Annual Performance Rehearsals in Term 3, prior to the Annual Performance.

 

Eisteddfods 


Eisteddfods are a fabulous way for students to learn stage craft, solo performance techniques and many other skills directly relating to a performance career in dance. Students are invited to take part in these competitions and weekly private lessons, costume design and choreography takes place. 

Students from The NSW Ballet School have been awarded 1st Place in each of 
the sections entered. 

The NSW Ballet School Performance Group

Very talented and dedicated students will be invited to be a member of 'The Performance Group', after passing an intense Audition process.

The Performance Group are the elite students of the School. They compete in Eisteddfods; perform at various Expo's and have the opportunity to train in various styles of dance including Cabaret, Modern Expressive, Contemporary and Jazz. 

The Performance Group won the National 


Classical Ballet Championship held on the Gold Coast on 2007. 

In 2005 The Performance Group was invited to perform at the prestigious West Lake Exposition in China. The NSW Ballet School's Performance Group after a Performance of 'The Nutcracker' in China. 

 

The Performance Group have won many places on Eisteddfods.

Royal Academy of Dance Examinations

​

The Royal Academy of Dance Examinations are one of the most prestigious ballet examinations held worldwide. Dedicated and determined young classical ballet students are permitted to enrol for their RAD Examinations with The NSW Ballet School if;

• Students attend all their Full Course Ballet Programs, in their designated ballet class (2 lessons per week for Primary Grade - Intermediate Foundation students, 3 lessons per week for Intermediate - Solo Seal students). 

• Junior and Senior Examination Students are required to attend ALL Annual Royal Academy of Dance Compulsory Examination Holiday Workshop Classes in the April School Holidays.

• Be sure that they meet the Royal Academy Dance Requirements, Policies & Procedures of Entry (E.g. Correct Information Provided for Candidate Entry Exam Forms, Correct Examination Uniform, Correct Examination Hair Pieces (Purchased from the RAD - for Senior students only), Payment of Examination Fees by due date, etc).
